Check out my mad skillz

Here is what I can accomplish with 2 hours of time and Microsoft "Paint". Anyway, here's what I'm thinking:

The lighter orange isn't quite the right color; it will be darker, less yellow.

As Anna said last night "How you like me NOW?"

Rather, how do you like this idea?

Also, yes, we know we need landscaping. That's next. We just couldn't take the ugly/dead crap that was there so we (ie DAVID) ripped it out.

I just love your house! Not sure about the orange sunshine though. The door however looks awesome! Just remember that whatever you paint a different color is what stands out, and what people notice. The front door is good to have a different color, but as people drive by, do you want the "sunshine" to be what they notice about your house? Just things to think about.

Maybe you want to take that same picture, leave the orange off the sunshine, and add a flower box with orange flowers under the window. If you don't like that idea, maybe find a bench for the front and paint it the same color orange to balance out that side of the house/yard.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the new coffee color. It is rich looking----excellant choice. If you paint anything darker, paint just the shingled portion above the door----not the upper 1/3 of the entire house.
And I agree with Jodi. Paint just the door. You could add some gingerbread ( still white ) to the sun. Don't get too wild, remember, CURB APPEAL !!!!
After planting some shrubs etc. I think that every time you drive up to your house you'll be PROUD of it. !

Hmmm...maybe you're right about the sun. As you know, I have a hard time with "subtle". :) I like the planter-box with, say, poppies in it under the window to the right.

Try striped awnings over the windows to match the orange.....
and remember you can always add indoor/outdoor carpet to those grey steps.

Oh, awnings could be nice....but we just ripped OUT the indoor/outdoor carpet that was on the steps! It was ugly. We had company over last night and one of them suggested slate steps. That would look cool, no?

Orange awnings would be too much, you don't want to add another color, the only thing left is tan and white stripes.
Would slate be slippery when wet?

How fun! Your house is awesome. And the second picture is better.
