clarification

It's not that I don't want to have a wedding. What I meant was, I don't want to have to PLAN a wedding, what with the renting chairs, planning menues, providing entertainment (there will be no dj, I'm telling you that right now), and spending half our child's college education fund on flowers. You know? But I am excited that now I know my family will be there, and many of our friends will be able to be there since it is home to many of them...and it is just so much easier than trying to find someplace for everyone to stay on an island that I've never been to.

Look, here is the barn (thank you, Jod, for going down and taking photos today!)

How cute is that? I am very excited about it. I LOVE the barn and that was my first thougth when David and I decided to get married. I've been to two weddings there and they were both really, really beautiful.

Just eat before you come, bring your own chairs and beer, and don't plan on dancing to "Money, Money."

We'll get it figured out. We can pick wildflowers, sit on buckets, stand around and drink beer till we fall over and order pizzas. Now how's that ! done.

Thanks mom!!! That sounds PERFECT. And I'm NOT even kidding. :)

That's the cool thing about the barn is that you DON'T need flowers and fancy stuff.

Sure, you might have to rent a few folding chairs.

But you DON'T have to serve a meal at a wedding. I think you get a pony keg, and a couple of veggie trays and some cheeze and crackers from Albertsons and yer done!

So after the 3 minute ceramony, we sit around for an couple of hours or so, drinking beer or cheap ass wine, watching the kids play in the field and the dirt, and it's done. No dancing, no music. It's about the sitting around and visiting. It's about getting family and friends together. No one has expectations,...except you.

And if you really want music, I have a dandy cd player.

aunt kate...
I'LL PLAN YOUR WEDDING. ;o)
I have nothing better to do now that I stay home. Seriously though... if you need any help, I can make phone calls or whatever. I would LOVE to do anything to contribute.

I know of a GREAT pizza place (Nick & Willy's). They make all gourmet pizza, everythings totally fresh and they have some really great vegetarian pizzas too. YUM! Im sorta glad your having your wedding here... we'll be there for sure... with bells on!

Thanks Jacki! I just may take you up on that! Seriously. :) And I love the pizza idea. We want it to just be fun and relaxed and it doesn't have to be perfect.

i bet we could find a rental place that has the regular picnic tables (even better if we could find wood) and we could arange those around the are where you actually wed (kinda like Jake & Heather's). That way it wouldnt feel too formal and you dont have to pay a butt load for seating. Throw some cute little terra cotta pots of wild flowers in a few different places, we'll get some good easy food, beer & wine & we're good to go! I do think it would be fun to have some dancing though (you dont have to have a dj)! There is nothing like good, drunk dancing! ;o) Seriously, OMG... I can envision it all now! Im such a loser... :o(

My offer for the cd player still stands! Jacki and I could do some serious drunk dancing!

You're right, Lala...I know none of you are going to be expecting Martha Stewart. But, you know, I will. I just need to get over it; I already DID that....

And yes, we probably will just have a cd player and a bbq. It's going to be just like being in somebody's back yard, only it's a barn.

See how well that worked out? and we're only in the goofy stage.
Everyone is jumping on it. We'll get your wedding put together, you won't have to stress and it will be ok. Better than ok. It will be FINE, JUST FINE !

Jacki, I love those ideas! You're HIRED!! :) Now. What am I going to wear?! eep! I want to be barefoot, that much I know. (I am, afterall, a hillbilly).

Thank you all for prying me off the ceiling. It will be FUN, that much I know. And yeah, we need dancing!

Wow, Kate, things are really accelerating! Idaho, a barn, Sept.13th! You are beautiful and perfect just as you are - the body you have is the body that David loves!
