They lasted for years but they finally went away. I only get one every couple of years now which I'm greatful for! Isn't it bizarre what our brains and bodies can do to us. I'm really glad Anna likes her therapist!Jodihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00100400622483378937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5494663141817723073.post-22572943706883393052008-10-18T06:56:00.000-07:002008-10-18T06:56:00.000-07:00I love this story. You really are a wonderful mother, and truly inspiring friend. If she ends up needing it for something, then okay. But I hate doctors that want to medicate children first and ask questions later.Fancy Schmancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12820338705876627799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5494663141817723073.post-76735712678634208692008-10-17T14:37:00.000-07:002008-10-17T14:37:00.000-07:00It's so wonderful that you're getting help for you...It's so wonderful that you're getting help for your daughter and that you have an open dialog about the issue. I struggled with it growing up and as an adult, so I know how difficult it can be. The biggest help for me was hearing that I wasn't some crazy weirdo and that many, many other people had a similar problem. It helped normalize everything. Good luck!Mymsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15601145686561459367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5494663141817723073.post-27200994457719266192008-10-17T13:46:00.000-07:002008-10-17T13:46:00.000-07:00Kate, I am so proud of you, you are such a good, u...Kate, I am so proud of you, you are such a good, understanding Mother. The understanding goes deeper with Anna as you have experienced OCD and so can relate to her fears and repetitive habits, rather than telling her "get over it".
You're right, I had no idea about your problems until after your Father's death and the "mushroom towels". And everything in the refrigerator had to be straight. Now I do that, but I can cram more into the 'frige if things are orderly. And I like neat. My house doesn't sparkle, but its usually neat.
I am so very glad you magically found the RIGHT therapist who has made it a "good thing" ,that Anna is eager to participate in and knows it will help.
my love to you all.Deehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03600056896841452538noreply@blogger.com
